** responsibility
** reasons why Rory brings Granda out of Rachnadar
Pg. 54-58
Rory knows that Granda dislikes staying in Rachnadar. Granda has once said told Rory to shoot him first before putting him in Rachnadar. (Page 11)
When Rory sees Granda crying with tears streaming down his face, asking him whether he is going to take him home, Rory also cries.
Rory realises that Granda is dying in Rachnadar. He may breathe, walk and eat but he would be dead inside. Even the nurses talk to him as if he were a little baby. All these make Rory realise that he has to bring Granda out of Rachnadar. Rory decides to run away with Granda to fulfill his responsibility as a grandson and the only family Granda has at that moment.
For Granda, Rachnadar is a place where "they put old folds that nobody wants". Granda mentions that nowadays nobody cares about anybody but themselves. People in his younger days cared about each other. For Granda , it is a horrible world now. Granda also said that if he was younger, he would run away from Rachnadar to somewhere people would never find him.

IRRESPONSIBLE PERSON
His father at first was not that responsible. His father left his mother because he couln't face responsibility. This is because he was a spoiled boy. Since he was a child, he got anything he wanted and when he got tired of it , he would throw it aside. He did the same to Rory's mother. Granda could not forgive what his father did.
